STEP 8 - UPSET STOMACH

Most everyone is familiar with the phenomenon of an UPSET STOMACH. Usually, this just occurs on an occasional basis, and can be the body’s response to stress, bacterial infection (for example, while traveling), an immune response to illness and environmental threats, food poisoning or ingestion of harmful substances, or drastic and sudden change in diet.

The quickest way for the body to expel substances that it recognizes as harmful is via the mouth or anus, so it will initiate the need to vomit or will increase bowel movements.

Mild diarrhea is a type of upset stomach that is unsettling, uncomfortable, and embarrassing for most people, and they will often seek relief from it quickly. It can affect children and adults, and in some people, it can be a regular or even daily occurrence that can have a severe impact on day-to-day living.

Having to plan an outing and search for the whereabouts of every restroom can be a distressing and debilitating experience, but is a reality for many people, young and old, today.

Essential Oils are a natural, safe, and effective way to help an upset stomach. Here are some of them:

• Peppermint

• Spearmint

• Black Pepper

• Melaleuca

• Lemon

• Ginger

• Marjoram

• Clove

• Digestive Blend

• Detoxification Blend

• Uplifting Blend

The DIGESTIVE BLEND is a blend of Ginger, Peppermint, Caraway, Coriander, Anise, Tarragon, and Fennel Essential Oils. It supports and maintains overall digestive health.

As a blend, these oils are generally calming to the digestive system but can also act as digestive stimulants and can help to eliminate harmful pathogens causing digestive symptoms.

The DIGESTIVE BLEND is also very useful at those times of the year when seasonal threats are high. Just one drop applied to the bridge of the nose can help to alleviate congestion.

PRACTICAL USES

• Add a few drops to water to take internally.

• Rub on the stomach before flying or taking a road trip for a calming aroma.

• Take DIGESTIVE BLEND internally when traveling or trying new foods to soothe occasional stomach upset.
